Virtual Programs

To ensure that you can continue to develop the skills that you need for success and sustain the strong and inclusive culture that you want, we’ve adapted several of our programs for virtual delivery.

Running inclusive and effective virtual meetings

While face-to-face meetings bring you around a table to discuss ideas with people you can see and who can see you, video and conference calls have an etiquette that is all their own. Without robust call protocols, virtual meetings are often dominated by some, while others become disengaged, or worse, silenced. In this session, participants will learn to adapt their approach to ensure maximum engagement, and foster team cohesion during screen-based meetings.

Handling Difficult Conversations

Part of building trust is the ability to have productive and meaningful dialogue when the stakes are high. That’s why right now, it’s even more important that managers and colleagues can address feedback and potential conflict in a constructive and positive way. This virtual workshop will provide a forum for practising the skills needed to take the fear and discomfort out of a difficult conversation and make it a positive tool for growth in business and relationships.

Unconscious Bias

In current times of uncertainty and turmoil, there’s been much conversation about bias and how it manifests in our culture and in our workplaces. As human beings we all have biases – some conscious and others are beneath our awareness. While we can’t completely rid ourselves of our unconscious attitudes and beliefs, we can learn to recognize bias, interrupt it, and reduce its impact. This is an interactive session focused on exploring and uncovering the biases that influence our understanding, actions, and decisions.

Respect and Inclusion at Work

Addressing bullying and harassment. Working from home should have liberated employees from toxic workplace behavior such as bullying and harassment. Yet, far from ending misconduct, the pandemic lockdowns have displaced it at best and fueled it at worst. Participants will learn to recognize – and take steps to prevent –discrimination, cyber-bullying and harassment in the workplace and online. They will also gain an understanding of the potential cost of inaction – both to individuals, and organizations.

Leadership Presence for Women

As more people adjust to working remotely, some gender imbalances in the workplace are becoming more pronounced. Virtual meetings are crystallizing how much harder it can sometimes be for professional women to be heard in group settings and are reinforcing the inequities already prevalent in workplace meetings. Drawing on recent research, this session will highlight the elements of leadership presence, and explore how women can uniquely leverage their natural strengths to wield serious clout in virtual meetings.

Presenting Remotely

While live presentations allow an opportunity to make a powerful connection with your audience, presenting online can feel awkward and remote. But used effectively, technology can get you in the same room, and inspire your audience to action. This session will equip you with tools and strategies to keep your audience off their email and engaged with your message.
